Art of Animation Rooms Cars

Be ready to zoom into your Cars Family Suite at the Disney World's Art of Animation Resort. This review will get your engines running for a great time.

A Cars Family Suite in Disney World's Art of Animation Resort (AOA) is the hotel room for a family of 6 people or less. It is spacious with its multiple beds, plenty of seating, a small kitchenette, and 2 full bathrooms. Once inside you feel like a kid again but with all the adult luxuries and feel of a vacation getaway. It's a fun experience and of course, Disney being Disney, has some fun surprises in store (spoiler alert: that table above is a bed!).

Staying in a Cars Family Suite is a great way of accommodating your family in one of Disney Worlds Value Resorts.

Just getting to a hotel room is often difficult but Disney knows who their clients are, over stressed Moms and Dads who probably drove many hours or flew in, they are covered with luggage and kids who are ready to see Woody and Buzz or Cinderella. Fear not, the lobby in Illumination Hall has a small movie section so kids can be entertained, video arcade for the older kids, and plenty of walkable areas just outside so Mom or Dad can get the young ones out to see the pools or Car characters. You can walk right up to Lightning McQueen or Mator which look exactly like they did in the movie. It also makes for a nice walk when getting to your room from the check in lobby.

-Dining Room-

When you enter the Cars Family Suite room, you walk directly into the dining area. There are four stackable seats and lots of fun Cars related signs or paintings. Even the side tables are fun, tool boxes.  The side tables have a few outlets and USB ports for charging or connecting. Plus, there is an alarm clock to make sure you're out of the room and ready for rope drop.

As you can see, these rooms are big, so you will have plenty of room for all your stuff in and people in your party.

For here, you can see the Master bedroom and the seating area. The different areas lets the different members of your family enjoy the different areas at the same time- someone can be sleeping, someone can be watching TV, and someone else can be sitting down at the table, checking out the maps so you could plan your next day in the parks.

Some fun Disney magic… that dining table is a Murphy Bed! The Murphy bed allows for extra bedding at night but a nice dining area during the day.

Move the chairs out of the way, follow the instructions on the paper located on/in the side tables and ta-da a bed!! This bed can easily sleep 2 people, who are happily exhausted from a fun day in the parks. Once the murphy bed is open, you'll see a sleeping Mator on a mural in the bed frame. There are even 2 lights built in the frame, giving you some light for a little night time reading or scrolling through the Disney app.

-Living Room Area-

The living room area of the room has a convertible sofa, two side tables, coffee table, and TV. And of course, fun Cars related decor, including cone lights and fun curtains that are decorated with cone, as well.

The TV has all your favorite channels so you can wind down at night or catch up on the latest news and weather in the morning.

The tool box TV stand has lots of drawers to pack clothes or your Magic Kingdom purchases for friends and family. The décor matches all around the room, with the kitchen in the same body shop tool box style.

There are brochures in the room so you can check out all the great things happening in Disney World Parks and Disney Springs that season. Be sure to browse them at the table that features a Radiator Springs map. Zoom Zoom!

-Kitchenette-

There is a kitchenette tucked in corner of the living room area of the suite. It's perfectly equipped for your vacation needs. There is plenty of space for leftovers form your dinners in Disney Springs, making popcorn, or morning coffee, and filling water bottles.

The coffee maker is set up with some packets of coffee grounds and tea bags, that you can prepare just by running the hot water through the coffee maker.

This kitchenette is a great way of saving money while you are at Disney. You can bring cereal, popcorn, supplies for making PBJ, packets of instant oatmeal, etc with you so that you can save money on breakfast and snacks.

It's also great if you have young kids who are still using bottles. You can bring your bottle washing supplies with you, and have plenty of room to wash and dry them, without having to do it in the bathroom sink!

-Bathroom-

What we called the Kids Bath (since it is in the living area and outside the bedroom) was very cute and a great size for the little ones. A sliding door separates the powder room from the living area and a swing door has a normal tub and toilet area. The fun Cars theme continues with the tub curtain showcasing more characters.

-Master Bedroom-

An inviting queen bed invites the adults into the room with a side table on each side and plenty of places to power up phones or tablets. It is going to be a great place to recharge after a busy day walking the park, riding all those fun rides, and watching the fireworks shows.

One thing to note about Disney World Resorts is that their bedding is just what you see here. There is no comforter on the bed. Many people think that Mouse Keeping is going to be doing a turn down service with more bedding later on, but that's it. This shift in how they make their beds is about cleanliness as comforters are not washed as often as your sheets. EWWW!!

You can request more blankets from Mouse Keeping, but you will just get more of the same from them- no heavy blankets. But fear not! The light weight bedding keeps you plenty warm. But if you need the weight of a blanket you might need to request several from Mouse Keeping or bring one from home, if you're driving.

At the foot of the bed is a large dresser topped with a large TV. Like the TV in the Living Room, the TV also has AV hook ups for connecting devices. Near the TV, is the area where you can hang up your clothing and store your luggage. There is also an iron station and in-wall safe.

-Master Bathroom-

Directly off the bedroom, is a spacious bathroom that has agenerous walk-in shower stall and large sink. The sink has plenty of room for all of your toiletry needs during your stay. Under the sink is a trash can and blow dryer.

You'll be able to get ready in no time with plenty of light from the overhead lights and lights that illuminate the mirror.

Of course, you can always bring your own products, but, in both bathrooms, are small bottles of shampoo and body wash, as well as a bar of soap. (No conditioner or lotion.) These products are from Disney's H2O+ Beauty Collection. They have great scents from their different product lines- Sea Marine, Sea Salt, Bath Aquatics, and Grapefruit Bergamot. If you really love them, then you can purchase them to use at home, taking a pit of vacation home with you. (The products in this photo are from the Sea Marine Collection)

One thing to note is that Florida water is pretty rough on skin and hair. Generally it is treated appropriately, but it can make your skin and hair dry. If you hair or skin is pretty sensitive, then it would be best to bring your own products so that there is some consistency with your normal beauty routine.

-Courtyard-

The Cars Family Suite guest rooms are in 3 buildings that are arranged to create a courtyard surrounding the Cozy Cone Pool.

Leading from the Illumination Hall (check in, shop, and dining), you take the pathway past The Big Blue Pool (biggest pool in the Disney World Resorts!) towards the cars buildings. As you approach the Cars Family Suite Buildings, you'll be welcomed with a big Radiator Springs billboard. Be sure to walk at an appropriate pace down Route 66, or you might get pulled over by Sheriff. Hopefully he will be taking a nap instead of looking out for speeders!

Each building has an mural painted on the side, showcasing the beauty that is Radiator Springs.

The entry of each build also has a different style too! One Tow Mater's garage, another has a Butte Gas station, and the last has

Sally Carrera and Lightning McQueen are ready to speed off on their next adventure after filling up at the pump!

You can walk right up to them and have your kids get pictures with their favorite characters. Who is your favorite?

As always, Fillmore wants you to stay groovy and enjoy your stay at the AOA.

-Cozy Cone Pool-

The Cozy Cone Pool is centrally located in the Courtyard of the Cars Family Suite buildings. It was very inviting to see from both windows in our room!

It's consistently less crowded than the Big Blue pool, so if you want a bit more relaxation than head here. So don't worry if you are on the courtyard side of the building- it's nice and quiet. The pool is surrounded by cone shaped cabanas. Each cabana has 4lounge chairs and a small table to keep you shaded from the hot Florida sun and relaxed while the kids swim.

Pass through the gates with signs for the Association of Cogs in the Machine and the Loyal Order of the Lugnuts for some fun pool time!

Stay: September 2018, 2 Nights, Room #1731

Our room was very clean and neat. We requested a pack and play and it arrived very quickly. While canceling Mousekeeping is an option, we didn't cancel it. However, Mousekeeping didn't come. We called for towels and they arrived quickly as well. (Apparently, the hotels were very busy as the site had no vacancies for the 2 nights we visited. Looking forward to our next visit.
